Prime Minister SonexaySiphandone cuts the ribbon for Asia-Potash Smart Industrial Park’s Phase I projects
On November 16, Prime Minister SonexaySiphandone attended the commissioning ceremony of Phase I projects at Asia-Potash International’s Smart Industrial Park in Khammouan Province, Laos, cutting the ribbon to mark the launch of new enterprise projects.
Completed and Operational Projects
Phase I of the Intelligent Remanufacturing Project:
By applying core technologies such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), significantly reduce spare parts costs, ensure efficient, reliable, and low-cost operation of potash production equipment, and address shortcomings in Laos' mechanical manufacturing industrial chain.
Phase I of the Bromine Deep Processing Project (36,000 tons):
Extend and enhance the bromine chemical industry chain, establishing a global base for bromine-based new materials.
Projects Under Construction
Bromine Expansion from 36,000 to 50,000 Tons:
Support future potash production capacity of 5 million tons, strengthen comprehensive utilization of tailings resources, and create additional profit growth points.
Chlor-Alkali Expansion from 30,000 to 100,000 Tons:
Align with the scale of the industrial park's supply chain, achieve comprehensive utilization of waste salt, and generate direct economic returns.
Annual 600,000-Ton Calcined Soda Project:
Directly produce calcined soda, providing low-cost raw materials for potash tailings treatment and achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Asia-Potashhas upgraded from single mineral extraction to integrated resource development and industrialization — driven by investment promotion and joint development. Potash and multi-mining industries now reinforce each other: the newly commissioned intelligent remanufacturing project and the under-construction 600,000-ton calcined soda project deliver timely, high-quality, low-cost components and raw materials for potash production and the park — directly cutting costs and boosting efficiency. As bromine, salt, and high-tech value chains expand and accelerate, resource utilization rises, potash production costs fall, and profitability and competitiveness grow. Meanwhile, Asia-Potash’s expanding potash capacity and stable output — backed by a resilient upstream-downstream supply chain — are unlocking new growth opportunities for multi-mining sectors like bromine chemistry.
Commissioning and groundbreaking ceremony
The event drew high-level attendance from the Lao government and industry. Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, former Deputy Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, Khammouan Governor Wanthisa Phongsavan, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office PokhongNammavong, and Industry and Handicrafts Minister MalaithongKommasith were among over 70 senior officials present. More than 30 partner organizations also sent representatives. Asia-PotashVice Presidents Zheng Youye and Liu Yonggang attended — marking a milestone in Laos’ industrial development and the park’s industrial evolution.

In his speech, Zheng Youye thanked the Lao government for its sustained support and guidance. He emphasized that Asia-Potash is expanding beyond potash — building industrial clusters through investment promotion and joint development to boost resource utilization and product value. The commissioning and launch of multiple projects signal rapid progress in implementing bromine, salt, and high-tech integrated value chains. Going forward, the company will strengthen its potash foundation, use industrial parks as platforms, and leverage its advantages in resources, scale, cost, and location to advance comprehensive resource development. It will refine the industrial chain, extend the value chain, drive cross-sector synergy, and deepen cluster-based growth — contributing to Laos’ socioeconomic development and Sino-Laos friendship.
