Asia-Potash attended the Laos-China (Zhejiang) Economic and Trade Exchange Conference.
On November 9, the Laos-China (Zhejiang) Economic and Trade Exchange Conference — jointly organized by the Lao National Chamber of Commerce (LNCCI) and the Zhejiang Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade — was held in Hangzhou. Asia-Potash, the only mining enterprise invited, participated in this landmark Sino-Laos trade event: the first major business-led forum co-hosted by China and Laos since the Eighth GMS Leaders’ Meeting, and actively supported by the Lao government.
Attendees included Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone; Planning and Investment Minister and Lao-Chinese Cooperation Committee Chair Phet Phomphiphak; Industry and Handicrafts Minister Malaithong Kommasith; Deputy Foreign Minister Thongphan Savanpheng; over 70 Lao business representatives; and Chinese delegates including Chen Qingcang, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial CPPCC; Ambassador Fang Hong of China to Laos; leading enterprises from Zhejiang and Laos; and industry experts — all convening to explore concrete opportunities for Sino-Laos economic cooperation and investment.
Zheng Youye, Executive Vice Chairman of the Laos-China Business Cooperation Promotion Committee (LCBCC), Director and Deputy General Manager of Asia-Potash, delivered a keynote speech titled “Asia-Potash Industrial Park: Driving Integrated Industrialization, Urbanization, Agricultural Modernization, and Sustainable Development in Laos.” He underscored how the park’s potassium fertilizer core and diversified non-potassium industries reinforce each other — delivering measurable socioeconomic benefits for Laos while strengthening the company’s operational resilience. The park’s distinctive, integrated advantages — scale, policy support, market access, cost efficiency, strategic location, and infrastructure — drew strong interest as a proven, turnkey platform for ASEAN-focused investment.
Zheng stressed that these six systemic advantages position the Asia-Potash Industrial Park as an optimal overseas investment gateway for enterprises entering Laos — lowering entry barriers, accelerating time-to-value, and unlocking shared growth across the ASEAN market.
