Laos Industry and Trade Minister Visits Asia Potash Industrial Park with Korean Expert Advisory Team

To strengthen the Asia Potash Industrial Park’s economic impact and unlock Laos’ and Khammouan Province’s development potential, Lao Minister of Industry and Handicrafts MalaithongKommasith — accompanied by Provincial Governor Vanxay Phongsavanh — visited Asia-Potash’s potash production base in Khammouan Province on December 16 with a Korean expert advisory team. Asia Potash Director and Vice President Zheng Youye led the company’s management team in hosting the delegation.

This is Minister Maratong’s third visit to Asia-Potash this year, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening policy support through close public-private collaboration and advancing the park as a national model industrial zone.

He noted that the Ministry is prioritizing interdepartmental coordination during this critical implementation phase. A new draft decree tailored to the park’s development will be submitted to the Lao government shortly — an upgraded measure backed by the National Assembly and Cabinet to accelerate company growth. It will deliver decisive policy advantages and strong momentum for the park, reinforcing its role as a landmark initiative for Laos’ industrialization and sustainable development.
