PM attends launch of new developments at Asia-Potash International Intelligent Circular Industrial
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and other top government officials on Saturday attended the opening ceremony of production and expansion phases under the 1st phase of a project operated by Asia-Potash International Intelligent Circular Industrial in Khammuan province.
Asia-Potash International Intelligent Circular Industrial(Asia-Potash Industrial Park) is the first Laos-operated project with the development mode of industrial chains that is backed by the Lao government and Khammuan province in collaboration with Asia-Potash.
Asia-Potash Industrial Park relies on expertise in the potash fertilizer industry with the goal of creating a modern and national-level industrial parkand being the first to develop bothpotashfertilizer and multi-mining industry.
Waste materials from the production of potash fertiliser are used to produce the maximum benefits, make new products and add value by attracting international quality investment.
Modern technologies sourced from the world are used to achieve upgrades and increase the efficiency of the industries, as well as developmodern industrial clusterand help accelerate Laos’ economic and social development.
Projects in the Asia-Potash Industrial Park that began production and expanded production capacity in the 1st phase include the first phase of a 3D printing remanufacturing project, and the first phase of the bromine downstream-flame retardant project with an annual production capacity of 36,000 tons.
The bromine capacity expansion project with an initial annual production capacity of 25,000 tons is now being expanded to 50,000 tons.
The Chlor-alkalicapacity expansion project with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons is now being expanded to 100,000 tons.
In addition, construction of a dolomite calcining unit with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons is now underway.
Director and Deputy General Manager of Asia-Potash,Zheng Youye, said these projects are all the first and largestscale projects in Laos. Once they go into production, the value of the products manufactured will reach US$500 million per year.
The projects, involving the bromine chemical industry chain, chemical salt industry chain, high technology integration and other multi-minningindustry chains, have progressed from the planning phase to actual implementation.
After the industrial parkpolicy isapproved, more projects will go into production and expand production capacity in the 2nd and 3rd phasesin the industrial park.
