On March 19, 2024, Laos’ Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister SaleumxayKommasith led a delegation of over 30 senior central government officials to visit Asia-Potash’s potash production base in Laos. The visit aimed to align key ministries through deeper research and closer dialogue—accelerating support for Asia-Potash’s potash and non-potash businesses. It advances concrete cooperation on industrial park development, policy incentives, and mining—and positions the site as Laos’ first resource-based model industrial park.
Accompanying the inspection were SonexaySitphaxay, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office; PhoxaySayasone, Minister of Energy and Minerals; MalaithongKhammasith, Minister of Industry and Trade; SthabandithInsisienmay, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Natural Resources and Environment; and Khammouan Province Governor VanxayPhongsavan and Provincial People’s Congress Chairperson Bounmy Phimmasone.
Deputy Prime Minister SaleumxayKommasith commended Asia-Potash for its high-quality, rapid development and outstanding contributions to Laos’ socioeconomic progress. Today’s cross-ministerial visit underscores our commitment to provide timely, targeted support—on resources, policy, and facilitation—to ensure the project and industrial park advance smoothly and deliver economic value faster.
