Laos Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines visits Asia-Potash’s Laos potash base to strengthen power supply support

On July 16, ChanthabounSoualoun, Deputy Minister of Laos’ Ministry of Energy and Mines, visited Asia-Potash’s potash production base in Khammouan Province. He was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry, Lao National Power Company, and Khammouan’s Department of Energy and Mines. Asia-Potash VP Zheng Youye and management team hosted the visit. 

• Securing reliable power and energy supply for the Asia-Potash Industrial Park; 

• Accelerating approvals for new mining rights and expansion projects; 

• Providing targeted tax policy support to reduce corporate burden. 

Deputy Minister Soualoun affirmed Asia-Potash’s potential as a world-class potash supplier and committed the Ministry to concrete actions across all three areas. Drawing on his prior role as CEO of Lao National Power Company, he emphasized technical feasibility and execution speed—particularly for grid upgrades and permitting. This was his first site visit to a Khammouan enterprise since assuming office.
