International Fertilizer Association (IFA) makes its first visit to Asia-Potash’s Laos potash base

On July 1, 2024, Ms. Alzbeta Klein, CEO and Secretary General of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), and Mr. Patrick, Deputy General Manager, visited Asia-Potash’s Laos potash base. It was IFA’s first on-site assessment of Laos’ potash mining sector — a milestone visit. Deputy General Managers Zheng Youye and Liu Yonggang, along with Asia-Potash’s senior management team, welcomed the delegation and hosted the tour.

 The IFA delegation toured key operational areas — underground mining at 280 meters depth, mineral processing workshops and control rooms, and the finished potash storage facility — as well as multi-mining assets including the chlor-alkali plant and employee housing. They commended Asia-Potash’s development achievements. At the mine face, observing operations firsthand, Ms. Klein remarked: “Seeing is believing — Asia-Potash’s Laos project is truly impressive. Behind every bag of potash lies immense effort. Companies and teams like Asia-Potash, working tirelessly, are helping to reduce global hunger. On behalf of IFA, I sincerely thank every Asia-Potash employee.”
