Laos’ first overseas port opens: Asia Potash’s potassium fertilizer vessel makes inaugural voyage at Yung Ang International Port’s Berth No.3.

On April 28, Lao-Vietnam International Port’s Berth 3 opened in Yung Ang Economic Zone, Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam, witnessed by Laos President and LPRP General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith and Vietnam President and CPV Politburo member Liang Qiang. Asia-Potash was the only corporate representative present. Its vessel MV BAO YI, carrying 27,000 tons of potassium fertilizer produced in Laos, made the port’s inaugural voyage, marking Laos’ first overseas shipment. Asia-Potash executives Liu Bingyan (President, Board Secretary), Zheng Youye (Director, Vice President), and Liu Yonggang (Vice President) attended the ceremony. 

The opening of Yung Ang Port’s Berth No.3 upgrades Asia-Potash’s key export channel for Lao potassium fertilizer, boosting logistics efficiency. At just 340 km from the company’s Lao production base, the port enables heavy-duty trucks to clear customs and arrive in as little as six hours, strengthening support for regional agriculture and food security.
